The Ultimate Cabinet Door Cut List Software (It’s Free!)

Stop wasting expensive material and time with guesswork. Our Cabinet Door Cut List Software is the simple, powerful tool that generates precise cutting dimensions for your five-piece cabinet door components, ensuring accuracy for every project.

Whether you’re a professional cabinet maker or a DIY woodworker, this application is currently 100% free to use on our site. Enter your finished door dimensions and get your component list in seconds.

Direct Input. Precise Output.

Unlike other tools that calculate the door size from the cabinet opening, our software starts with the finished door size and instantly reverse-engineers the precise dimensions needed for your material. This makes it the fastest way to get your door cutting list once you have your final measurements.

Accurate Stile and Rail Calculator

Our primary function is providing an accurate Stile and Rail Calculator. For any Shaker door cut list or similar five-piece door style, the software automatically factors in critical joinery allowances based on your shop’s settings:

  1. Stile & Rail Width: You control the width of your frame pieces (default 2.5″).
  2. Groove/Dado Depth: You control the depth of the groove for the panel (default 3/8″).
  3. Expansion Gap: You control the required panel wiggle room (default 1/16″) to prevent cracking.

By entering your door’s final width and height, the tool instantly calculates the exact lengths for the stiles, rails, and the center panel dimensions.

Batch Processing and Project Management

Save time by using the Bulk List feature to input an entire job in seconds (e.g., 15 x 30, 2). The tool aggregates all your entries into a single Master Cut List, grouping common parts together to simplify cutting, ordering, and creating an efficient material estimating software overview. Plus, logged-in users can Save and Load Projects to track multiple jobs easily.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What information do I need to input to generate the cut list?

You need the finished door width and finished door height (in inches) for each door, along with the quantity. You also need to confirm your shop’s standard stile and rail width, groove depth, and panel expansion gap in the settings panel.

What formula does the software use for the component cut list?

Our software generates a precise door cutting list based on the following standard woodworking formulas:

  • Stile Length: Equals the Finished Door Height.
  • Rail Length (Cut Size): Equals the Finished Door Width – (2× Stile/Rail Width) + (2× Groove Depth).
  • Panel Width: Equals the Rail Length (Cut Size) – Expansion Gap.

Will this software handle complex doors like two-panel styles?

The current free version is designed for single-panel doors only (like Shaker or single-panel raised). We are developing future functionality that will include two-panel doors, arch top doors, and other custom configurations.

Do I need to pay to save a project?

No. This tool is currently 100% free to use, including the ability to save your projects when logged in.
