What information do I need to input to generate the cut list?
You need the finished door width and finished door height (in inches) for each door, along with the quantity. You also need to confirm your shop’s standard stile and rail width, groove depth, and panel expansion gap in the settings panel.
What formula does the software use for the component cut list?
Our software generates a precise door cutting list based on the following standard woodworking formulas:
- Stile Length: Equals the Finished Door Height.
- Rail Length (Cut Size): Equals the Finished Door Width – (2× Stile/Rail Width) + (2× Groove Depth).
- Panel Width: Equals the Rail Length (Cut Size) – Expansion Gap.
Will this software handle complex doors like two-panel styles?
The current free version is designed for single-panel doors only (like Shaker or single-panel raised). We are developing future functionality that will include two-panel doors, arch top doors, and other custom configurations.
